COWBOY MOUNTED SHOOTING
This CMSA sanctioned shoot with $8000 added money draws competitors from around the world! You will enjoy watching these authentic dressed superior horsemen that have remarkable marksmanship skills! Cowboy Mounted Shooting is one of the nation's fastest growing equestrian sports. Mounted contestants compete in this fast action timed event using two .45 caliber single action revolvers. Courses are set to a variety of patterns, an average course normally takes a contestant between 30 and 35 seconds to complete. MOUNTAIN TRAIL HORSE CHALLENGE
This is not your grandma's trail course! Riders manuevering through this trail course will find water obstacles, bridges, traverses, logs and much more in a naturally depicted trail environment. PACKER'S SCRAMBLE
An event that's always fun to watch! You'll enjoy the sights and sounds when teams of humans and animals come together! Their object is to distribute the load, pack the animals and navigate a specified course. When it's done correctly it's a sight to behold. Each team has the same objects to load and pack on the same course. The team who finishes with the fastes time will take home snazzy new belt buckles. ALL BREEDS SHOW & PRESENTATIONS
We're canvasing a wide radius to bring you different breeds for your viewing pleasure; such a wide radius we can't even pronounce some of these names or envision them either! Join us as we learn more about each of these fabulous equine cousins. We have invited owners of:Akhal-teke, Knob-Strupper, Andelusians, Tennessee Walkers, Paso Fino, Morgans, Arabians, Sangroside, Oldenburg, Appaloosa, Percheron, Freesians, Fjords, Appendix, Fox Trotters, Tiger Barbs, Rocky Mountain Spotted Ponies, Welch Ponies, New Forest Ponies, POA Ponies, Mini's, and Mules. We've also invited owners of Quarter Horses, Paints and Thoroughbreds. This promises to be a color filled, fun and educational event for everyone! WAR HORSE CHALLENGE DEMONSTRATIONS
Take yourself back an era or two with this exciting demonstration brought by the Warhorse Challenge Demonstrators of Washington State. Dameon Willich and his performers entertain with lancing rings, horseback sword techniques, horse archery and other contests used throughout history to train warhorses and their riders. Even their dress, including armor in some demos will take you back to times of knights and round tables. Terry has been in an accident and is not able to be with us for the expo. Please keep her in your prayers. We are pleased to present Toby Lapp of Lapp performance horses of Twin Falls Idaho. He will give clinics Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Toby is a proven trainer in the preformance horse world. We feel privledged to have him with us.
CHRIS BOHENEK: Chris brings over 13 years of working horseback experience in handling both horses and cattle to his students. After having worked for different ranches throughout Montana, starting colts and taking care of cattle, Chris and his wife Lynne relocated to the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. There, Chris does clinics and demonstrations locally as well as traveling abroad, using his natural horsemanship and Vaquero style integrated with his "Core Balance" (trademark pending) exercises to help both horse and rider. Chris also works with neighboring cattle and is always building quality Vaquero style ranch geldings and taking in a select amount of outside horses for training. We're setting up a little something for the younger crowd as well. Break out those stick horses and compete in barrels, poles and much more. Fastest times in each age group will bring home the prize. We'll grease up a couple of pigs for a good ole chase; don't worry mom, we're keepin the hog; the lucky pursuant will take home a gift certificate.
